LVV Training Successfully Completed in Nickerie: Growing Knowledge, Awareness, and Motivation

the Ministry of LVV has clearly demonstrated that there is a strong need in Suriname for practical agricultural knowledge and professional guidance. Over the course of five intensive days, local poultry farmers in Nickerie received in‑depth instruction on the responsible and profitable rearing of layer chickens and broiler chickens.Attendance was high, and the motivation among participants was even higher. Farmers listened attentively, asked questions, exchanged experiences, and gained insights that were completely new to many of them.
One participant expressed it perfectly:
“There was so much I wasn’t aware of. Now I truly understand how important it is to raise chickens the right way.”
Purpose of the Training: Awareness, Safety, and National ProgressThe nationwide training program has a clear mission:to create awareness about safe and hygienic poultry practicesto expand knowledge so farmers can achieve better resultsto motivate new entrepreneurs to enter the poultry sectorto strengthen national production, reducing Suriname’s dependence on importsA country that produces is a country that moves forward. Nickerie Completed — Brokopondo Is NextWith Nickerie successfully completed, the focus now shifts to Brokopondo, where the next group of farmers will have the opportunity to receive the same valuable training. The nationwide approach ensures that every district — large or small — has access to professional support.
